Donna Stankiewicz, Fiber Artist

  I have been ‘creating’ my entire life; it is part of my DNA.  It is always in my heart; it is part of my soul.   I create what I enjoy and am drawn to what speaks to me, as the process is part of the fun.  

Occasionally, my work is not planned at all.  I may start with a vision and it takes off from there.

I begin my art quilts with a drawing - often based on one of my photographs.  My love of sewing and quilting are what drives me to transfer my sketches and paintings to fabric, ultimately creating an expression of my art on fiber.   Paints, dyes, colored pencils and thread work are some techniques I like to use on my art quilts as I am fond of mixed media. 

I am blessed to be in the company of so many creative people with such diverse talents.

I display my art at Art League of Hilton Head Gallery; Art Quilters of the Lowcountry exhibits and other venues.
